Motorist Assistance Program - State Representative Austin Badon worked to secure a state contract for the Department of Transportation and Development's Motorist Assistance Program. The program will help by providing gas, changing flat tires, filling radiators, or providing the use of a cellular phone for stranded motorists on I-10 between Bullard Avenue and the Superdome exit.
Representative Austin Badon would like to thank Levee Board Police Chief Richard Lewis and his officers for granting our Representative's request that they patrol the Lake Forest Plaza during the 2004 Christmas season. Free Gun Locks - Starting September 27, 2004, State Representative Austin Badon, Jr. is giving away a total of 300 gun locks to the public. The easy-to-install gun locks could be used on many types of firearms, including revolvers, semi-automatic handguns, shotguns, and rifles.
Helping our Neighbors in Florida - Representative Austin Badon and several members of the New Orleans East hotel industry announced that New Orleans East hotel rooms would be available to Florida residents at discounted rates during hurricanes. Also, guests will be allowed to bring their pets into the hotels.
Fulfilled Campaign Promise - Based upon his request, State Representative Austin Badon has received documentation that the Louisiana State Police and the Department of Weights and Standards will conduct patrols from the High-Rise to the I-10 Twin Spans.
Austin Badon received approval from the RTA that a shelter will be installed above the bus stand on Haynes, which mostly serves the residents of Nazareth Inn.
