Austin on Economic Development
- Be the ambassador to bring retail, grocery stores, banks, drug stores, and restaurants to District E
- Develop a plan to revitalize the Port of Embarkation in the Lower 9th Ward
- Promote the development and construction of the Big League Dreams facility
- Develop plan for use of the Six Flags site
- Petition the Obama administration to provide a new and long-term contract to the NASA Michoud facility
- Develop comprehensive plan to transform Lakefront Airport into a passenger terminal and cargo hub
- Work with Levee Board to develop a comprehensive plan for the revitalization of South Shore Harbor/Former Bally’s site
- Support and recruit business to the New Orleans Regional Business Park
- Create incentives to spark the revitalization of the New Orleans Regional Business Park, Lake Forest Plaza, and other smaller mall areas within the district
- Work with administration on a high speed rail across the gulf coast
