Innovative Legislator
- Elected State Representative in 2004. Currently serving his second term.
- Chair of the House Education Committee. Active supporter of parental school choice and leader in education reform efforts.
- Major bills passed: Consolidation of the Assessors Office from 7 to 1, Passage of the School Scholarship fund for Orleans Parish families, Ban on driving while using a hand held cell phone.
- Floor leader for Governor’s Jindal and Blanco.
