Innovative Legislator

  • Elected State Representative in 2004. Currently serving his second term.
  • Chair of the House Education Committee. Active supporter of parental school choice and leader in education reform efforts.
  • Major bills passed: Consolidation of the Assessors Office from 7 to 1, Passage of the School Scholarship fund for Orleans Parish families, Ban on driving while using a hand held cell phone.
  • Floor leader for Governor’s Jindal and Blanco.

  • Graduate of UNO with a bachelors degree in political science 1988.
  • Graduate of Troy State University with a Masters in Human Resources Management.
